    Step 1 (Sift flour and baking powder together into a bowl.)

    Step 2 (Beat the butter in a mixing bowl until it's creamy. Add 0.25 cup confectioners' sugar and mix until fluffy. Then add egg yolk, brandy, and vanilla, and mix until light. Stir in almonds.)

    Step 3 (Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms. Cover and chill for about 30 minutes.)
